Job Description

The Head of Marketing and Sales for Uganda is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, building brand prominence, and establishing Caystard Group as a trusted partner for digital transformation in Uganda and the broader East African market. This position oversees the development of localized marketing and sales strategies, leads high-performing teams, and fosters key client relationships in a dynamic, emerging market. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with deep expertise in technology or related sectors and a strong understanding of Uganda’s business ecosystem.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement tailored marketing and sales strategies to penetrate Uganda’s healthcare, banking, and e-commerce sectors, achieving revenue and brand objectives.
  • Team Management: Build, lead, and mentor a lean, high-impact team of marketing and sales professionals, fostering a culture of agility and results.
  • Client Engagement: Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, C-suite executives, and industry leaders in target sectors.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive lead generation, deal closures, and revenue growth for software, cloud, AI, and cybersecurity solutions in a competitive market.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer insights to identify opportunities and adapt strategies to local needs.
  • Brand Positioning: Oversee localized marketing campaigns, digital initiatives, and thought leadership efforts to elevate Caystard Group’s brand in Uganda.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with global product, technical, and delivery teams to ensure solutions meet local client expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Industry Representation: Represent Caystard Group at regional tech events, industry forums, and trade associations to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs for marketing and sales performance, ensuring alignment with global and regional goals.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of progressive experience in marketing and sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within IT, financial services, telecommunications, or related sectors.
  • Proven success in driving revenue growth and brand recognition in emerging markets, preferably in East Africa.
  • Expertise in B2B marketing, including localized demand generation, relationship-based marketing, and digital campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex sales cycles, closing deals with enterprise and public sector clients.
  • Strong leadership experience managing teams in resource-constrained, high-growth environments.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and digital marketing tools.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Luganda, Swahili, or other local languages is a significant advantage.
  • Deep understanding of Uganda’s business landscape, cultural nuances, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., data protection, financial regulations).
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, information technology, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
