Challenge
Each regional office maintained its own tracking systems, warehouse management tools, and databases, leading to inconsistent data, duplicated infrastructure spend, and delayed shipment status updates for customers. Leadership needed a single source of truth for global operations without disrupting day-to-day logistics.
Solution
Caystard consolidated the company's fragmented systems onto a single cloud platform with standardized data models, built a real-time shipment tracking layer using IoT sensor data and carrier APIs, and implemented cost governance tooling to control cloud spend across regions.
The project began with a global systems audit, cataloging over 30 disparate applications and databases across regional offices. Caystard designed a unified data model for shipments, inventory, and carrier information, then built ETL pipelines to migrate historical data from each regional system into the new platform without loss.
Real-time visibility was achieved by integrating IoT tracking data from shipping containers and vehicles with carrier partner APIs, feeding into a live operations dashboard used by both internal teams and enterprise customers. Legacy regional systems were decommissioned in a phased rollout, region by region, to avoid disrupting active shipments.
Cloud cost governance was a key focus: Caystard implemented tagging, budget alerts, and automated resource scaling policies to prevent the sprawl that had driven up costs under the old fragmented setup. The result was a leaner, unified infrastructure with far greater visibility into both operations and spend.
